PLAYS FOR YOUNG ACTORS

Perfect Pupil
An adventure with a robot

Dissatisfied that school inspections are not reflecting the official government policy that 'Everything is getting better!' the Prime Minister forces Sir Giles Smuglee, the Secretary of State for Schools to adopt an automated inspection system invented by Professor Magnus Spyke. This comes in the form of OSIRIS, a robot with attitude and a number of technical problems.

Unknown to anyone Cuthbert Smuglee, the minister's son, substitutes himself for OSIRIS when the robot is sent to inspect St Oswald's School. Here the megalomaniac headmaster insists that everything at the school must be perfect. Glowing reports are received by the Department for Schools and by the Prime Minister. Thrilled by the out come the Prime Minister decides to visit the school himself and he arrives whilst Professor Spyke and the real OSIRIS are also visiting. Chaos ensues that is only solved by the technological wizardry of Cuthbert!
